Report: Phillies moving on from Machado due to Orioles' asking price
Count one team out of the Manny Machado sweepstakes for the time being.
The Philadelphia Phillies have moved on from trade talks with the Baltimore Orioles about the prized shortstop because the asking price is too high, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
Philadelphia was among a handful of teams interested in the 26-year-old who celebrated his birthday Friday, but the club is unlikely to mortgage the future for the present, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
The last-place Orioles are motivated to move the three-time All-Star, who is set for free agency at season's end, but it appears teams are not offering close to what they seek in a trade.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Milwaukee Brewers have also expressed interest in Machado, who is in the midst of a stellar campaign.
In 85 games, he's hitting .308/.378/.561 with 21 home runs and 59 RBIs.
