The Denver Nuggets officially signed center Nikola Jokic to a multi-year deal, the team announced Monday.

The Nuggets had the chance to pick up a $1.6-million team option on Jokic for the 2018-19 season, but that would've made him an unrestricted free agent next summer. Instead, they declined the option and inked him to a reported max extension worth $148 million over five years.

The deal is reportedly fully guaranteed, with no options for player or team.

Jokic has been one of the best offensive centers in the league over the last two seasons. He's crafty under the basket, he can play effectively out of the post, he's a brilliant passer, and his shooting range comfortably stretched beyond the 3-point arc last season.

The Serbian center averaged 18.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.1 assists last season while shooting 49.9 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from deep.
