Dana White 'pretty confident' McGregor wants to fight Nurmagomedov
UFC president Dana White thinks he has a good idea of who Conor McGregor wants to face when he makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon.
White said in the post-fight press conference for UFC Liverpool on Sunday that he believes McGregor is eyeing a fight against undefeated lightweight, and current champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"I'm pretty confident that that is the fight that Conor wants, and I'm pretty confident that that is the fight that Khabib wants," White said, according to Shaun Al-Shatti of MMA Fighting. "So, yeah, I could see that happening."

McGregor hasn't fought in the UFC since knocking out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in 2016. He has since been stripped of both the featherweight and lightweight belts he once held simultaneously.
White says he hasn't spoken to Conor McGregor since The Notorious' infamous bus attack in New York ahead of UFC 223, but that he and McGregor will meet in Las Vegas in the near future. McGregor is awaiting a June 14 court date for three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief.
"(What happens next with him) depends on what goes on with him in New York in June," White explained.
