What would The Avengers look like if they were made up of MLB stars?

SportsNet New York

The Avengers will assemble once again Friday when the latest installment of the Marvel comic film series, "Avengers: Infinity War," is released in theaters.

As several of the Marvel Universe's greatest heroes try to stop the evil villain Thanos from collecting all of the Infinity Stones and possibly conquering the universe, MLB's biggest stars will continue to compete for baseball world domination.

Below, theScore imagines which MLB stars could be members of The Avengers.

Thor - Noah Syndergaard

The hair, the build, an impressive hammer - oh, and he already owns the nickname. No player in MLB better resembles an Avengers character more than New York Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard. Since arriving in the big leagues in 2015, Syndergaard quickly earned the Thor nickname because he not only possesses the build of the Asgardian god of thunder but also strikes out hitters with 100-mph cheese, reminiscent of a god-sent lightning bolt.

Plus, who could forget this?

Iron Man - Adrian Beltre

MLB may possess a pair of 44-year-old players in Ichiro Suzuki and Bartolo Colon, but no active player has played more games than 39-year-old Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre, which makes him as tough and durable as The Avengers' Iron Man. Beltre may not have his heart powered by palladium or possess Tony Stark's suave demeanor, but he's still armed with a missile over at the hot corner similar to the ones Iron Man will presumably launch in abundance during the Infinity Wars saga. The question is: Does Iron Man enjoy having his head patted?

Hulk - Aaron Judge

When The Avengers need to create chaos, they call on the intimidating, gamma-radiated green monster, Hulk. When the New York Yankees need a homer, they've got a monster of their own in the 6-foot-7, 282-pound Aaron Judge. Judge is not only one of baseball's strongest players, but he also has Hulk-like agility and speed in the Yankees' outfield. Like the Hulk's alter-ego, Bruce Banner, the quiet-mannered Judge usually appears under control, but don't get him mad.

Ant-Man - Jose Altuve

For close to 60 years, Ant-Man has proven to the Marvel Universe that size doesn't matter. In fact, he's shown being diminutive can be advantageous. Houston Astros second baseman and World Series champion Jose Altuve embodies the Ant-Man persona better than any other in MLB. Standing just 5-foot-6, the 27-year-old is a small bundle of athletic joy to watch on the field. He's recorded more than 200 hits in four consecutive seasons, including 204 last year en route to his first AL MVP award.

Captain America - Bryce Harper

He's handsome, he's athletic, he's a genetic freak who drapes himself in the red, white, and blue on a consistent basis, and he makes his home in America's capital. Bryce Harper is MLB's version of Captain America. Like Steve Rogers, Harper is a leader for the Washington Nationals. He may be off to an incredible start, tied for the NL lead in home runs (eight) to go along with an impressive 1.044 OPS, but one thing he can't do is survive being trapped in ice for nearly 70 years. Although, that's never actually been proven.
