Embiid: Unlikely I'll play in Game 1 of playoffs, 'but there's still a chance'
So you're telling me there's a chance?
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, who's currently out while recovering from a facial fracture and a concussion, was asked if he thinks he'll be ready to suit up in Game 1 of the playoffs.
"Unlikely, but there's still a chance," a masked Embiid told reporters, adding it depends on how he feels.
The All-Star big man suffered the ailments when he collided with teammate Markelle Fultz and underwent surgery on the orbital bone fracture in his left eye on March 31. As for the concussion, he was cleared by an independent neurologist last week but still must complete the NBA's concussion protocol.
It was reported "The Process" would be sidelined for two-to-four weeks following his procedure, which opened the door to being available early in the first round of the playoffs.
The Sixers, who entered Wednesday's action on a 15-game winning streak, will secure the No. 3 seed with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. They'll open the postseason at home this weekend, with or without Embiid.
