David Price carried a remarkable 14-inning shutout streak into Wednesday's game for his third start of the 2018 campaign, but the New York Yankees got to him quickly, plating runs before the Boston Red Sox left-hander had even recorded a single out.

After allowing a Brett Gardner single to lead off the game and walking Aaron Judge in the subsequent at-bat, Price was punished by Giancarlo Stanton on a 2-1 two-seamer that caught way too much of a plate for a deep triple.

Didi Gregorius popped out in the following plate appearance, but Gary Sanchez continued his strong performance against Price by putting the 0-0 offering onto the Green Monster:

Wednesday's dinger was the fifth Sanchez has hit against Price, and he has gone 6-for-12 for his career against the Red Sox southpaw with 11 RBIs, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

When coming off of the mound, the beleaguered Price appeared to be looking at his pitching hand or forearm, according to Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald. He was relieved by left-hander Bobby Poyner to begin the second inning.
