Spurs drop out of West's top 8 with loss to Rockets

The NBA is in some uncharted waters.
With the Spurs' 109-93 loss Monday to the Houston Rockets, San Antonio dropped out of the playoff seeds and into 10th in the Western Conference. The Spurs technically sit in a four-way tie, but are out of the playoff picture by virtue of tie-breakers.
The Golden State Warriors clinched a postseason berth with the Spurs' loss.
San Antonio hasn't missed the playoffs since 1996-97, and they need to go 13-2 in their remaining 15 games to keep their streak alive of winning 50 or more games in a season, dating back to 1999-2000.
