Haters gonna hate.

People were quick to criticize the Golden State Warriors on Monday night after head coach Steve Kerr took a back seat and let his players draw up plays against the lowly Phoenix Suns.

Kevin Durant was hardly surprised by the backlash, telling Sean Highkin: "Everybody just loves to hate on the Warriors. Whatever we do, they don't want to just say they hate us, so they're going to make excuses up on why they don't like us or why it was disrespectful. Who gives a s---?"

He previously expressed similar sentiments about the mighty Warriors having a target on their backs.

"We the Warriors," Durant said last year. "Everybody trying to figure out a way to break us up."

Kerr, who never surrendered control of the rotations Monday, was surprised the coaching tactic became a story and said it's a good exercise he'll likely employ again. His hands-off approach saw his Warriors defeat the Suns 129-83.
