Bucks' Brogdon out 6-8 weeks with torn quad
On the day they're getting Jabari Parker back from a year-long absence, the Milwaukee Bucks found out they'll be without another key rotation player for most of what remains of the regular season.
Malcolm Brogdon will miss the next six-to-eight weeks due to a partially torn left quadriceps tendon, the team announced Friday. Brogdon suffered the injury on a landing after an awkward fast-break dunk during Thursday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The reigning Rookie of the Year has averaged 13.3 points and 3.2 assists with a .487/.378/.882 shooting line while playing both guard positions in his sophomore season. He was relegated to the bench when the Bucks acquired point guard Eric Bledsoe in early November, but had recently been reinserted into the starting lineup at the two-spot.
Attrition is beginning to catch up to the Bucks. Bledsoe is also hobbled, having missed the last two games with a left ankle sprain. Giannis Antetokounmpo is dealing with the same injury. Parker will be on a strict minutes limit, but his return comes not a moment too soon.
