If you're holding out hope for Popovich-Kerr 2020 ... Steve Kerr has got some bad news for you.

The Golden State Warriors head coach has been plenty outspoken about Donald Trump, referring to him in the past as being "ill-suited" to be the president and also saying the Warriors wouldn't visit the White House following their 2017 NBA title. But while some hope Kerr will one day venture into politics, he isn't planning to go down that road.

"No, I can't imagine getting into politics. It sounds horrible. It sounds awful," Kerr told USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick recently as part of a wide-ranging interview. "What would you rather do, coach basketball or be in the government? ... I'm not interested or qualified for something like that."

Kerr does, however, take pride in his criticisms of the president while also praising his fellow U.S. citizens for calling out corruption and misconduct by distinguished individuals in the public eye. He cited the example of Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who was alleged to have sexually harassed female employees before coincidentally announcing he would sell the team after the current season.

Kerr implored the American public to continue to use their voices while also filtering out purposely misguiding information.

"It's just a reminder that this is the tendency of mankind. The history of the world is that people are going to look out for themselves, and people are going to be power hungry," Kerr said. "That's one of the reasons our country has been so successful is we have these institutions in place to protect us from ourselves, and so the institutions have to win out.

"The only way that's going to happen is if we keep calling b-------, so that's my approach. I just have to join the coalition that's calling b-------."
