LaVar Ball won't thank President Donald Trump in words, but he will send him some Big Baller Brand merchandise.

"I'm gonna send Trump some ZO2s! We just got 'em out," he told TMZ Sports, referring to the $495 signature BBB shoe designed for his son, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball.

"You know what, I gotta ship some to Trump so he can calm down a little bit. Get him some ZO2s so he can play on the court, not in the court."

Some quick background on the most ridiculous feud of 2017 (which, to borrow a phrase, would place it high in the running for most ridiculous in human history):

  • Ball declined to make a public show of gratitude after Trump purportedly intervened on behalf of Ball's second son, LiAngelo, and two other UCLA players who had been detained in China on shoplifting charges.
  • Trump - who'd pre-preemptively wondered on Twitter whether he'd receive the praise he felt he was due for his role in the boys' release - rage-tweeted about Ball's lack of gratitude, and said of the boys: "I should have left them in jail!"
  • Ball went on CNN (!) to point out that the boys had never actually been in jail, and to again downplay Trump's role in their release. He added, "Why are we even talking about this with all the political matters going on in the world?"
  • Trump rage-tweeted about Ball again, this time comparing him unfavorably to Don King and calling him an "ungrateful fool." Then he went golfing.

"They got him golfing? Tell him to come and ball at the Big Baller Brand's estate," Ball implored.

"Them ZO2s is comin' for you, Trump. When you put them on, you're going to ease up a little bit," he said. "We're all going to have some fun."

Ball has generated an estimated $13.2 million in free advertising for his family's brand through his beef with the notoriously hot-tempered Commander in Chief.

"I must be good," he said.
