Report: Broncos considering switch to Paxton Lynch

Dennis Wierzbicki / USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are considering making a switch from starter Trevor Siemian to former first-round pick Paxton Lynch, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Lynch hasn't played all season due to a right shoulder injury, but was able to fully participate in practice late last week.

The Broncos are in desperate need of a jumpstart to their offense, which ranks 24th in points per game. While the offensive line and running game deserve a significant portion of the blame for the struggles, Siemian appears to be holding the unit back.

The second-year starter threw three interceptions in Monday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, his third straight game with two or more turnovers.

At 3-4, and with the Chiefs already a near-lock for the division, Denver is running out of time to make a change under center.
