Duane Brown: Meeting with Texans owner 'didn't go too well'

After he caused a firestorm with his controversial comments earlier in the week, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair attempted to fix things by meeting with the team prior to Sunday's game against Seattle.

It appears that didn't do much to quell the controversy, as Duane Brown told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle that the meeting "didn't go too well."

McNair apologized for saying, "we can't have the inmates running the prison," about protests during the anthem, claiming that the comment wasn't in reference to the players.

Brown also made it clear that the relationship with McNair has not been repaired, and that he wasn't shocked to hear the owners comment. "I don't know. At this point, we're trying to play for each other," Brown said. "I'm sure it will come up again. It's the same as it was before. I said I wasn't surprised. It is what it is."

The star offensive lineman wasn't the only player to speak out after the contest as D'Onta Foreman voiced his opinion as well.

"I'm still upset," Foreman told Wilson. "I feel like some things shouldn't be said."

While Sunday's game offered a brief reprieve from the controversy, it didn't take long after the final whistle for things to pick right back up.
