Lukaku: Celebration against former club Everton just 'a bit of banter'

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku isn't making too much of his goal celebration after notching the third marker in a 4-0 win over his former side Everton, calling his tally "just another goal" despite the sentiment behind it.

Lukaku and Wayne Rooney both squared off against their former sides as the Red Devils hosted Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday, and while the two had a fair few chances on goal, it was Lukaku who managed to find the back of the net against his previous employer.

The Belgian striker opted to celebrate his goal - a rebound strike off the end of his free-kick effort - by placing a hand to his ear and pointing it toward the travelling section. He did not hold back, as former players often do, in sharing his jubilation with his new teammates, and while Toffees supporters might have been irked by the overt celebration, Lukaku figures it wasn't a big deal.

"It's another goal, really," he told Sky Sports of his late score. "I'm really happy with the win and that we stay top of the league. That's the only objective for me this season.

"(The celebration is) just a bit of banter. With the free-kick, I've missed and then they booed me, but then the rebound … it's just football, really."

For his part, the goal amounts to Lukaku's seventh in as many matches for Jose Mourinho's side. Meanwhile, Everton, sitting 18th in the Premier League, have scored only twice in five matches.
