Owner of Cardinals' 'Rally Cat' named it 'Yadi' unaware of grand slam

The infamous "Rally Cat" that may or may not have inspired Yadier Molina's grand slam was eventually named after the St. Louis Cardinals backstop himself.

After the tiny cat invaded the field at Busch Stadium on Wednesday in the sixth inning, Korie Harris, a fan in the stands, rushed through the crowd to find out what the team's field crew would do with the kitten, she told Inside STL's 590 The Fan radio show.

After discovering staff tried to simply set the animal loose outside the stadium, she claimed the cat was hers and took it home. While in the parking lot, however, Harris was then approached by two Busch Stadium employees who inquired about the cat's medical history and its name, to which she had to quickly improvise a response.

"So the guy asked me 'What's the cat's name?' and I said 'Yadi,'" Harris said, completely unaware the catcher hit a grand slam on the very next pitch. "He rolled his eyes at me, well later I know why."

Unfortunately, the story doesn't end on a completely positive note.

After getting spooked by something on the way home, Yadi leaped out of Harris' arms and jumped into some nearby bushes. Despite trying to lure the cat out, Harris says she was unable to find Yadi again.
