Aurier, Krychowiak, Ben Arfa left behind as PSG exits loom

Paris Saint-Germain boarded a flight to Miami on Friday for pre-season preparations, and among the notable players left behind were Serge Aurier, Grzegorz Krychowiak, and Hatem Ben Arfa, hinting at potential departures for the fringe trio.

It's hardly a surprise, as L'Equipe reported that Aurier has joined wantaways Krychowiak and Ben Arfa in looking for new clubs, with the Ivorian full-back the latest to become surplus to requirements with the addition of Dani Alves.

With Alves and Thomas Meunier likely to compete for first-choice duties at right-back, Aurier has been told he can leave, with reports out of England saying the player is on Manchester United's radar.

Aurier, 24, moved to the capital city in 2014 from Toulouse for a modest €10 million, but three years on, the pacey full-back has overstayed his welcome with a series of off-the-pitch issues including homophobic remarks directed at former boss Laurent Blanc and an incident where he assaulted a police officer.

He also saved Mali forward Moussa Doumbia's life during a World Cup qualifier in October by preventing the player from swallowing his tongue, and despite a mercurial spell at PSG, the Lens academy star should be in high demand.

Krychowiak and Ben Arfa may not be as fortunate, and with debut campaigns at the Parc des Princes mired by infrequent appearances, summer exits for the pair have been in the cards since well before the transfer window swung open July 1.

Also missing out on the transatlantic trip were Thiago Silva and Angel Di Maria, with the South American tandem on holiday and set to join their mates in Miami ahead of International Champions Cup clashes with Roma, Tottenham, and Juventus.
