McGregor edges closer to Mayweather on betting lines

The improbable became reality on Wednesday, and the betting world has responded accordingly.

Floyd Mayweather may have opened as a -1100 favorite and Conor McGregor a +700 underdog ahead of their August blockbuster boxing match, but not 24 hours after it was announced, "The Notorious" has crept a little closer on the betting lines, with Bodog listing them at -500 and +350, respectively, according to Pro Boxing Odds.

According to Jeff Sherman of the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, bets have been limited to a maximum of $2,000.

Mayweather and McGregor meet on Aug. 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
