Folks haven't seen dime-hunting like this since that dude at the beach with a metal detector.
Russell Westbrook didn't have one of his best games in Friday's 120-99 loss to the Phoenix Suns, but he was close enough to a triple-double - one that would break Oscar Robertson's record of 41 in a single season - that he got a little conspicuous with his passing in the fourth quarter.
He didn't get to 10 dimes, finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. Eventually, he was pulled from the game with 2:34 left and the Thunder down 20.
The upside in Westbrook triple-double news is he did ensure he would average one for the season, becoming the first to do so since Robertson in 1961-62.
