The Seattle Mariners are bringing back a familiar face.
After being released Sunday by the Detroit Tigers, 33-year-old reliever Mark Lowe has agreed to a minor-league contract to return to Seattle, according to Bob Dutton of The News Tribune.
Lowe spent the first four-plus seasons of his major-league career with the Mariners before becoming a bit of a journeyman. He split time between three teams from 2010-2014 before eventually returning to the Mariners in 2015.
He had his best major-league stretch that season, sporting a 1.00 ERA over 36 innings before being dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays at the trade deadline.
Lowe signed with the Tigers ahead of the 2016 season, but struggled with Detroit, posting a 7.11 ERA in 49 1/3 innings.
