Baylor's Russell gets clearance to play vs. TCU

Jerome Miron

Baylor will have Seth Russell for Saturday's game against TCU, as head coach Jim Grobe told John Werner of the Waco Tribune that the star quarterback has cleared concussion protocol.

Russell was entered into the protocol after last weekend's loss to Texas, in which he received a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit from a Longhorns defender.

The standout senior's CT scan came back negative for a concussion, and after passing the remainder of protocol tests he's good to go in the important Big 12 matchup.

Russell has thrown for 1,696 yards and 18 touchdowns on the season, while also adding 440 yards and six scores on the ground.
