Watch: Cabrera ejected after heated argument over foul ball
This is the definition of "bad call."
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera grounded out in the sixth inning against the Cleveland Indians, which would be ordinary enough if it weren't for the fact that he clearly hit the ball off his lower leg, making it a foul ball. The umpires didn't call it that way, though, ruling it a groundout.
After convening, the umpires decided the call on the field would stand, sending Cabrera into a tizzy. The Triple Crown winner expressed his displeasure to home-plate umpire Tim Timmons, who promptly sent him to the showers.
Perhaps Cabrera's frustration was building up from yet another brutal showing against the Indians. The Tigers trailed 7-1 at the time of the ejection, and eventually dropped the game by a 12-1 score to fall to 0-11 against their AL Central rivals.
