Midfield maestro Kante happy at Leicester, for now
Fresh off a dazzling debut title-winning season at Leicester City and amid speculation linking him with a move to a high-profile club, tough tackling midfielder N'Golo Kante admits he is happy at the King Power Stadium.
Before Foxes supporters get overly excited, there's a caveat.
"For now, I am happy at Leicester," Kante told L'Equipe.
Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus have all reportedly been monitoring the 25-year-old French international.
"I do not pay too much attention to everything that is said. For now, I am in Leicester and I focus on the Euros."
Soft-spoken and characteristically timid, Kante is apparently also a fan of the obvious, saying, "I think that my season at Leicester surprised everybody. People liked to see a new Premier League champion. We had a magnificent season."
Surprising indeed, as the £5.6-million summer signing from Caen took the league by storm, making the PFA Team of the Year as well as the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year, which was awarded to Foxes' teammate Riyad Mahrez.
"And then, my debut with France went well. Maybe my journey also helps compared to other people who come from amateur football."
Again, that's a bit of an understatement, as Kante was brilliant after coming on at the half against the Netherlands, before scoring on his full debut against Russia.
With France's Euro campaign kicking off June 10 against Romania, Kante's focus is elsewhere, and he insists he is happy at Leicester for the time being.
