USC quarterback Cody Kessler broke his school's record for touchdown passes in a single game on Saturday against Colorado.
Kessler's seventh touchdown pass against the Buffaloes put him ahead of former USC quarterback Matt Barkley, whose six touchdowns in a game were the previous school record. Barkley passed for six touchdowns on four separate occasions, including twice against Colorado.
The record was broken on 24-yard touchdown pass from Kessler to Steven Mitchell in the third quarter that gave the Trojans a commanding 49-14 lead over the Buffaloes. Kessler finished the night 19-of-26 for 319 yards and the seven scores, as USC rolled to the 56-28 win.
