Nussmeier returning to LSU for 2025 season

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier announced Wednesday that he'll return to the Tigers for the 2025 season.
"My time at LSU is not over," Nussmeier announced in a video on X. "... I'm fully committed to bringing this university a championship."

Nussmeier became LSU's QB1 this season after serving as Jayden Daniels' backup in 2022 and 2023. He finished the 2024 campaign with a 63.7% completion rate to go along with 3,739 yards and 26 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. His 313 completions and 491 pass attempts led the SEC.
The Tigers had a promising 6-1 start this year before losing three in a row. Brian Kelly's outfit finished the campaign 8-4, including 5-3 in SEC play.
