Highly touted 2-way star Bussey commits to Texas A&M's 2024 class

Four-star athlete Terry Bussey announced his commitment to Texas A&M's 2024 class Thursday.

The Texas native is the third-ranked athlete and No. 25 overall recruit on the ESPN 300. Other outlets rank him as a five-star prospect. He chose the Aggies over Texas, LSU, and Oklahoma.

When asked about why he chose Texas A&M, Bussey said, "The relationships I've built with those players and their staff," per Hayes Fawcett of On3. "They have a great program, and I feel like I fit in well with their schemes and what they're trying to do. I trust what they're building."

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound speedster played quarterback and defensive back at Timpson High School. He's been recruited as a receiver and defensive back, according to ESPN's Tom VanHaaren, who adds schools told Bussey he can play both if he wants.

Bussey tossed for 2,177 yards and 26 touchdowns last season while adding 2,596 yards and 46 TDs on the ground, VanHaaren notes. He also had a big impact on defense with 115 tackles and five interceptions and on special teams by returning three kickoffs and a punt return for touchdowns.

He's the 10th ESPN 300 recruit to join Texas A&M's 2024 class. The Aggies' haul is headlined by five-star wide receiver Cameron Coleman.
