Syracuse's Gadsden to miss remainder of season due to Lisfranc injury
Syracuse tight end Oronde Gadsden II will miss the rest of the 2023 season after sustaining a Lisfranc injury, the school announced Saturday.
The 6-foot-5, 223-pound junior suffered the injury in the Orange's Week 2 win against Western Michigan after the second play on offense. Gadsden returned to the sideline wearing a boot and sporting crutches for the remainder of the contest.
"I'm very disappointed … but will now turn my focus to supporting my teammates for the remainder of the year and rehabbing so that I can come back better than ever," Gadsden wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Gadsden said he hasn't made a decision regarding his draft status.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native led all Syracuse pass-catchers with 61 catches for 969 yards and six touchdowns last season. He switched from receiver to tight end prior to the start of that campaign.
Gadsden recorded seven receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown this season.
