Ohio State landed a future foundational piece for its defense on Sunday, as highly-touted defensive tackle Justin Scott committed to the Buckeyes, according to On 3's Hayes Fawcett.

Scott is ranked as the fourth-best defensive tackle in the class of 2024 and the No. 34 overall prospect in the nation, per the ESPN 300. He's the top player in the state of Illinois and held offers from a number of top programs, including Michigan, Miami, Georgia, and Alabama.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder is the latest in an excellent recruiting haul for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. Ohio State added standout corner Bryce West just over a week ago, and Scott's addition gives the Buckeyes commitments from 11 players on the ESPN 300 list.
