Louisville hires Purdue's Brohm as head coach
Brohm's contract with the Cardinals is expected to be for six years and worth roughly $35 million, sources told ESPN's Chris Low.
A Louisville native, Brohm will return to his alma mater where he previously enjoyed a playing career. He also spent time as an assistant on the Cardinals' staff from 2003-2008.
Brohm will replace Scott Satterfield, who departed for Cincinnati earlier this week. Satterfield compiled a 25-24 record over four seasons with the Cardinals.
The 51-year-old has spent the last six years as the Boilermakers' head coach. He's posted a winning record in each of his last two seasons while holding a 36-34 mark overall during his Purdue tenure.
Brohm also enjoyed success during a three-year stretch as Western Kentucky's head coach with the Hilltoppers posting a 30-10 mark under him.
Louisville went 7-5 in 2022 and is set to take on Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl on Dec. 17.
