Virginia canceled its home game against Coastal Carolina on Saturday, the school announced Wednesday.

The decision comes after an on-campus shooting Sunday night resulted in the deaths of three members of the Cavaliers' football team - wide receivers Devin Chandler and Lavel Davis Jr. and linebacker D'Sean Perry.

The incident also wounded two other students, including running back Mike Hollins. Police arrested Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former football player at Virginia, Monday as a suspect.

ACC commissioner Jim Phillips released a statement Wednesday supporting Virginia's decision to cancel the game.

Saturday's contest would mark Virginia's final home game this year.

The Cavaliers haven't decided whether they'll play their season finale on the road against Virginia Tech on Nov. 26.
