Johnson passed for 3,883 yards and 35 touchdowns against eight interceptions across two seasons with the Tigers.
The sophomore signal-caller led LSU to a 27-24 upset win over the Aggies in his last start for the school, throwing for 306 yards and three scores.
Johnson played six games as a freshman during the 2020 season.
The Georgia native gained the starting job this past campaign after starter Myles Brennan sustained an injury that kept him sidelined. Johnson played in all 12 of the Tigers' contests in 2021, compiling 2,814 passing yards and 27 touchdowns against six interceptions.
Johnson still has three years of eligibility remaining, according to Brian Perroni of 247 Sports.
Johnson's younger brother, tight end Jake Johnson, recently committed to the Aggies' 2022 recruiting class. Johnson's father, quarterback Brad Johnson, led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their Super Bowl XXXVII win.
Texas A&M now has more depth under center after Zach Calzada recently entered the transfer portal. Johnson will likely compete with Haynes King and incoming freshman Conner Weigman for the Aggies' starting job in 2022.
