Lane Kiffin agrees to new contract at Ole Miss
The deal's terms weren't officially disclosed, but sources told Chris Low and Harry Lyles Jr. of ESPN that Kiffin will earn an average of $7.5 million per year.
"We are committed to winning championships at Ole Miss, and coach Kiffin is the person to lead us to those heights," Rebels administrator Keith Carter said in a statement. "With his winning edge, offensive vision, and recruiting prowess, he has quickly cemented our team among the best in the nation, and this is just the start. With major facility projects on the horizon, we are investing in this program like never before and look forward to building on the foundation that coach Kiffin has established."
Kiffin led the Rebels to a 10-2 mark this year and has Ole Miss poised to finish the campaign in the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings. Overall, Kiffin owns a 15-7 record at Ole Miss.
The 46-year-old took over in 2020 from Matt Luke, who guided the school through sanctions that stemmed from NCAA rules violations. Kiffin was at the helm of Florida Atlantic before replacing Luke in Oxford.
"Sustained success takes a commitment from everyone, and we are excited to continue the work to build a program that makes the entire Ole Miss community proud," Kiffin said.
Ole Miss has fielded a prolific offense under Kiffin. The unit ranked fifth in the FBS in yards per game this season.
