Georgia's Daniels dealing with lat injury ahead of game vs. Arkansas
Georgia quarterback JT Daniels is dealing with a lat muscle injury, coach Kirby Smart said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach.
Despite the injury, Daniels is expected to start Saturday's game against No. 8 Arkansas in a top-10 showdown.
The junior signal-caller sat out the Bulldogs' 56-7 victory over UAB due to a lingering oblique injury. Stetson Bennett started the contest and passed for five touchdowns in the rout.
"His oblique is fine; he's been having a bit of a lat issue that bothered him some last week and none this week," Smart said. "He's done a good job. He's sharp, watches all his tape, gets his reps and does a good job. So we’re hoping he can stay that way."
Daniels played only one quarter against Vanderbilt, completing nine passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Daniels has tallied 567 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions through three appearances this season.
Georgia will host Arkansas in a matchup of undefeated teams.
