Parkinson's is a neurodegenerative disease that often surfaces when dopamine-producing cells in the brain die.
Richt coached for 18 seasons before retiring in December 2018. Coaching at Georgia from 2001-2015, he compiled a 145-51 record and won two SEC championships. He joined Miami from 2016-2018 and led the Hurricanes to a 26-13 record and three bowl appearances.
Since his retirement, the 61-year-old has spent time as an analyst with ACC Network.
