Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger was found dead Thursday, Austin police officials announced, according to Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman.
Police say they responded to a call around noon on Thursday and found his body near the University of Texas campus. Authorities didn't specify how the body was found, but they don't consider the death to be suspicious.
No cause of death or additional details were provided in the police report.
Ehlinger was a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. He didn't play during his first two seasons at Texas.
Jake was the younger brother of former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger, whom the Indianapolis Colts drafted in the sixth round last week.
