Alabama picked up a major recruit Saturday when star running back Emmanuel Henderson announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Henderson, a native of Alabama, is ranked by ESPN as the top running back and 12th-best recruit overall in the class of 2022.

Henderson chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Auburn, and Michigan, among others.

"I chose this school because I like how they produce their running backs in the NFL, and I like how the program is, and it's a great campus," Henderson said of Alabama.

The Crimson Tide have sent numerous backs to the NFL in recent years, including Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs. Najee Harris is expected to be one of the first running backs selected in the 2021 NFL Draft after starting for Alabama in 2020.

Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has been putting together a star-studded 2022 recruiting class; Alabama already added four-star quarterback Ty Simpson.
