The SEC unveiled its 2021 football schedule Wednesday.

Each SEC team has 13 playing weekends, of which eight are conference games, including six contests against opponents from the same division. The 2021 schedule also has one open date for each school.

The SEC season is set to kick off on the Sept. 4 weekend. There are three neutral-site games on the opening weekend, with reigning national champions Alabama starting its campaign against Miami on Sept. 4 in Atlanta, Georgia taking on Clemson on Sept. 4 in Charlotte, and Ole Miss facing Louisville on Sept. 6 in Atlanta.

The SEC title game will be played on Dec. 4 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

In 2020, the SEC played 69 of 71 scheduled games of a pandemic-adjusted 10-game schedule, featuring only matchups within the conference.

"We are proud to have completed the 2020 football season under unique circumstances and will now focus on playing the 2021 football season as scheduled," SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement. "Circumstances around the COVID-19 virus will continue to guide our decision-making should any adjustments need to be made."
