Oklahoma-West Virginia rescheduled for Dec. 12 due to COVID-19
Saturday's Big 12 game between Oklahoma and West Virginia was postponed Wednesday after the Sooners called off team activities due to positive COVID-19 tests within the program.
The game has been rescheduled for Dec. 12.
It's the first postponement for either program. The 6-2 Sooners are ranked No. 11 by the College Football Playoff selection committee and are riding a five-game winning streak. The 5-3 Mountaineers were scheduled to host the conference matchup, which was to be the second-last game on each team's schedule.
"I am disappointed for both teams, who have worked extremely hard in their preparation for this weekend's game," West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons said in a statement. "We will now look forward to honoring our seniors and hosting the Sooners on Dec. 12."
