It's been an interesting few months for 2019 recruit Diwun Black.

The four-star linebacker announced his commitment to Florida Thursday, bolstering head coach Dan Mullen's 2019 class.

Black is the fourth-ranked outside linebacker in his class and the No. 42 overall prospect on the ESPN 300. He's also the second-ranked player from Mississippi.

The 6-foot-4, 219-pound defender originally committed to Mississippi State as a safety in September 2017, but decommitted from the Bulldogs in March, four months after Mullen left the program.

Black then committed to Ole Miss soon after, but has decided to move away from his home state for a greater challenge.

"Playing football in Mississippi, I've always been better than everybody else I went against," Black said, via Zach Abolverdi of The Gainesville Sun. "Basically, it's been too easy. I really haven't been challenged that much. I think coming here (to Florida), I'm challenging myself harder to not get what I want but earn what I want. So I can't wait to get to work."

Black is Florida's top recruit in the 2019 cycle to date, and their fifth ESPN 300 commitment.
