Oregon snagged a new target for quarterback Justin Herbert on Monday, as former Wake Forest wide receiver Tabari Hines selected the Ducks over USC and Texas as his graduate transfer destination.

"The quarterback, he's a great player, he reached out to me and just told me the situation and how important I'd be to the offense and how I can stretch the offense out," Hines told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg of his decision to join the Pac-12 program.

"The coaches expressed the same thing, how I would be used. The offense really runs through the slot receiver, the position I'll go in to play. But I won't be one-dimensional. I'll play on the outside. The special teams coordinator wants me to be a punt returner and kick returner. It just made perfect sense."

As a graduate transfer, Hines will be eligible to play immediately. He spent three seasons at Wake Forest, where his production rose each year. In 2017, he posted 45 receptions for 625 yards and five touchdowns.

Hines is an important acquisition for Oregon, which looked thin at receiver throughout the spring, and for Herbert, who's expected to be one of the top pivots in the nation next season.
