Ticket prices soar ahead of 2018 CFP National Championship
Tickets for the CFP National Championship game between Alabama and Georgia were purchased, on average, for more than $2,300 each on resale websites such as StubHub and Vivid Seats, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.
Prior to Monday's highly-anticipated clash, the 2013 championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame held the highest average ticket sale price at $1,640. That makes this year's average ticket on StubHub some 41 percent more expensive.
Prices have soared in large part due to the proximity of the event, as the game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons. Shortly after the Bulldogs beat Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl, the cheapest ticket was $2,480, leading to StubHub crashing due to a large number of visitors.
The most expensive ticket for Monday's game was a luxury suite purchased for $94,000 that includes food, beverages, and parking.
