Auburn's trip to the Peach Bowl will happen without Kamryn Pettway, as the running back won't play against UCF on Jan. 1 due to injury.
Head coach Gus Malzahn broke the news to Josh Vitale of the Opelika-Auburn News on Wednesday that Pettway's shoulder blade injury will sideline him for the bowl game. It's the same ailment that saw him miss the Tigers' last five games.
Pettway was a standout performer for Auburn in 2016, rushing for 1,224 yards and seven touchdowns, but battled injuries throughout the current campaign and gained only 305 yards on the ground.
While his absence will once again hurt Auburn's depth, Kerryon Johnson has shown throughout the season that he's more than capable of carrying the load.
