Bret Bielema has accepted an $11.8-million buyout from Arkansas, ESPN's Heather Dinich and Mark Schlabach report, citing a source.
Bielema had three years left on his contract when he was terminated as the Razorbacks' head coach. His attorney requested the full $15.4 million left on his deal, while members of the school's board of trustees wanted to lower the fee to a figure between $5 million and $6 million.
The Razorbacks went 29-34 during Bielema's five-year tenure, and a posted a 4-8 record in 2017.
Arkansas is reportedly preparing to make a run at Auburn's Gus Malzahn, but the two sides have had no known contact thus far.
