It didn't take long for Florida State to identify possible replacements to fill its head coaching vacancy, as sources told Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports the school is targeting Oregon's Willie Taggart and Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente.

The position became available when Jimbo Fisher resigned Friday afternoon to take the job at Texas A&M, a move that was expected by officials at Florida State.

The interest in Taggart has been rumored all week, with Oregon reportedly offering an extension to the first-year coach in hopes of keeping him in the Pac-12. Taggart is a Florida native and coached at South Florida before taking the Ducks job after the 2016 season.

Fuente is certainly familiar with the ACC as he just completed his second regular season with Virginia Tech, holding a 19-7 record in that time. He previously held the head coaching job at Memphis, where he went 19-6 over his two seasons.
