Less than 24 hours after LSU indefinitely suspended Maea Teuhema, the offensive lineman has decided to transfer.
Teuhema's been granted his release and will transfer to another program, the school announced Wednesday in a statement obtained by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.
With Teuhema's departure, the Tigers are down to just 11 scholarship players on the offensive line. That could be an issue for a team that relies heavily on a run-based offensive attack.
While full details on Teuhema's suspension haven't been released, the junior did miss Monday's opening of preseason camp due to academic issues.
LSU opens the 2017 schedule Sept. 2 against BYU.
