Florida continues big recruiting weekend with 4-star WR Chase

Florida continued its strong weekend of recruiting Sunday evening, securing a pledge from four-star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.
The Gators went into Louisiana to pluck the 6-foot-1 pass-catcher, who's ranked 276th overall on the ESPN 300. On Saturday, Florida added four-star quarterback Matt Corral, formerly a USC commit, to its recruiting class for 2018.
Chase is the seventh ESPN 300 prospect to verbally commit to the Gators. He turned down scholarship offers from a host of schools, including LSU, which has prioritized in-state recruiting under Ed Orgeron's leadership.
Regardless, Chase elected to play for Jim McElwain down in Gainesville.
