It was only a matter of time, but Lincoln Riley officially has his first contract as Oklahoma's head coach.

The school and Riley made their relationship official Tuesday, agreeing to terms on a five-year contract worth a starting annual salary of $3.1 million, according to Jake Trotter of ESPN.

Riley is also set to receive an annual bonus of $200,000, raising the contract's annual value to $3.9 million by the final year of the deal. The contract includes a $425,000 bonus clause, as well, in the event he leads the Sooners to a national championship.

Riley took over Oklahoma's head coaching position after Bob Stoops suddenly announced his retirement June 7. It was also announced Tuesday that Stoops would stay on with the university as special assistant to the vice President for intercollegiate athletics programs and earn a yearly salary of $325,000, according to Brooke Pryor of The Oklahoman.
