Oklahoma State puts wrong record on Alamo Bowl rings

Most people would rate Central Michigan's Hail Mary touchdown win over Oklahoma State as the craziest play of the last season. It's undoubtedly one of the wildest finishes in recent memory, and gave the Chippewas a massive road upset victory

"Most people" is important, because, as Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy has said, that result never happened and Oklahoma State considers the game a win.

So much so that the Cowboys rings for winning the Alamo Bowl have an 11-2 record on them, not the 10-3 mark they actually finished with.

Gundy's issue is that the referees erred in giving Central Michigan an untimed down after the clock expired on an Oklahoma State penalty. The MAC admitted afterward that the officials made the wrong call, but it was too late to make any changes. Gundy went on the record afterward, saying both teams should get the win.

"If they want to fix it, just be willing to say, 'You know what? We made a huge mistake, we're gonna give both teams the win," Gundy said in October. "If you're not willing to go back and say, 'We're gonna correct the error,' then just give Oklahoma State the win, let them keep the win, go on down the road.'"

That wouldn't be the case, as the result was upheld with Oklahoma State taking the loss. At least that's what the record books say, because their rings tell a whole different story.
