Florida State's McFadden to miss spring ball following shoulder surgery
Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports
Florida State will be without the services of standout defensive back Tarvarus McFadden for the spring as the junior recovers from shoulder surgery, head coach Jimbo Fisher told Safid Deen of The Orlando Sentinel.
The surgery comes as a result of McFadden playing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder, while somehow managing to lead the nation in interceptions with eight. The recovery period is expected to keep him out of spring ball entirely.
McFadden's presence in the Seminoles' secondary was a much-needed boost considering star safety Derwin James missed the majority of last season with a knee injury.
