Former Rutgers quarterback Chris Laviano is headed to San Diego State as a graduate transfer, a source told Keith Sargeant of NJ.com.
Laviano, who started 18 games for the Scarlet Knights over the past three seasons, will compete with incumbent starter Christian Chapman for top spot on the Aztecs' depth chart.
Laviano threw for 748 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions in parts of seven games in 2016. He finished his Rutgers career with 3,102 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 15 picks.
San Diego State is coming off an 11-3 season that included a Mountain West Conference championship and a victory over Houston in the Las Vegas Bowl.
