Report: Alabama lands nation's No. 3 recruit
The drama surrounding the commitment of Najee Harris, the nation's No. 3 recruit, appears to be over, as the star running back has reportedly chosen Alabama.
Harris, who verbally committed to the Crimson Tide earlier in the year, refused to tell anyone whether he was following through on that pledge or joining Michigan. He simply told reporters that after Saturday's U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio, he would board a plane for one of the two schools and enroll early Monday.
Drew Champlin of AL.com obtained a photo of Harris at the Birmingham Airport alongside fellow Alabama star recruit Tua Tagovailoa. The four-star quarterback told reporters earlier in the week that the two would be on the same flight to Alabama following the game.
The 6-foot-3, 226-pounder is the top-ranked running back in the 2017 recruiting class, and is ESPN's third-best prospect in the country, trailing offensive tackles Trey Smith and Isaiah Wilson.
